Basketball Recap: Hug Hawks vs. Damonte Ranch Mustangs
Hug extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were dealt an 85-41 loss at the hands of the Damonte Ranch Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 18th).
Hug lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Marcel Bryant, who posted seven points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Herbert, who earned 15 points and six rebounds.

Noah Kizer had an outrageously good game as he shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 47.9% shooting accuracy. Diedrix Holdsworth was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 13 points.
Coincidentally, Hug and Damonte Ranch will both be playing Reno the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Hawks will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
