Softball Recap: Maritime Academy Charter's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Maritime Academy Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 18-3 to the Prep Charter Huskies. The Seadogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Yareilis Santiago-Campos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played.

Maritime Academy Charter's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Prep Charter, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maritime Academy Charter will face off against rival Simon Gratz at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Prep Charter is set to take on their familiar foe Olney at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
