Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Fairview

Fairview hadn't done well against Pettisville recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Fairview Apaches greeted the New Year with with a 48-34 victory over the Pettisville Blackbirds. The win was all the more spectacular given the Apaches' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Blackbirds are ranked 181st).

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Pettisville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will face off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pettisville, they will challenge North Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
