Baseball Recap: Richton Takes a Loss

Richton came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Mize Bulldogs. The Rebels have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Richton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Cochran, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Cochran has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Richton's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mize, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Richton will challenge Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mize, they will square off against Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
