League recap: Escobedo overpowering for Port Clinton in past week

Joe Escobedo was the best pitcher in the league this week. He accumulated one win and five strikeouts.

Trey Gluth was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .348 average, one home run and six RBIs. His Port Clinton team went 2-2.

Huron boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Tigers have given up a mere 115 hits on the year in addition to compiling 101 strikeouts. Troy Delamatre is the leader in that category with 37 Ks on the season.

Edison, the season leader in runs scored at 145, added to its total with a league-high 31 runs this week. Adam Vartorella leads the team with 21 runs scored and Alex Bixler has a team-high 20 RBIs on the year.



The week's strikeout crown belonged to Adam Wroblewski, who turned in 13 Ks for Edison. He's first in the league with 57 total strikeouts.

The Chargers' Matt Ortman finished his week with 10 hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .449 and ranks eigth in the league with 22 hits.
