Softball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Monroe's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Cairo Syrupmakers on Thursday. The Golden Tornadoes have struggled against the Syrupmakers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Monroe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamiya Duhart, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Monroe now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cairo, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will host Randolph-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cairo, they will welcome Worth County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
