Baseball Game Preview: Arrowhead Warhawks vs. Hamilton Chargers

The Arrowhead Warhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Hamilton Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Arrowhead has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Arrowhead narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Kettle Moraine 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Warhawks in their matchups with the Lasers: they've now won three in a row.

Arrowhead got a great performance from Tanner Buhlmann as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Buhlmann a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Niko Frongopoulos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Brendan Foley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Arrowhead lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hamilton entered their tilt with West Allis Hale on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Huskies 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Chargers have posted against the Huskies since June 1, 2021.

Hamilton's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Arrowhead, their record is now 5-2.

Arrowhead was able to grind out a solid victory over Hamilton when the teams last played back in June of 2024, winning 3-0. Do the Warhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
