Basketball Game Preview: Kennewick Lions vs. Central Valley Bears

Having just played yesterday, the Kennewick Lions will jump right back in to play the Central Valley Bears at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kennewick is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 59-50 win over Roosevelt.

Meanwhile, Central Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Meadowdale with points to spare, taking the game 78-64. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Mavericks are ranked 45th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Valley pushed their record up to 24-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Kennewick, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Kennewick came up short against Central Valley when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 58-47. Can Kennewick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
