Soccer Game Preview: NCSSM: Durham vs. East Wake Academy

The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns will face off against the East Wake Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

NCSSM: Durham will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Wake Prep Academy on Monday. NCSSM: Durham was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Wake Prep Academy. It was an even better day for Elise Murphy as she scored four goals for her team.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy had just enough and edged out Wake Prep Academy 2-1 on Thursday. Given East Wake Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Wake Prep Academy are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

NCSSM: Durham's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5-1. As for East Wake Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

NCSSM: Durham beat East Wake Academy by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. Does NCSSM: Durham have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Wake Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
