The Pierce City Eagles won the last time they faced the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers, and things went their way on Friday too. Pierce City strolled past Jefferson Independent Day with points to spare, taking the game 54-38. Pierce City pushed the score to 48-24 by the end of the third, a deficit Jefferson Independent Day cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day saw an underclassman step up: Jack Twiss scored 12 points. Ethan Renger was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.

Pierce City's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
