Baseball Recap: Citronelle Takes a Loss

Citronelle might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Charles Henderson who claimed the real prize. The Citronelle Wildcats lost 17-7 to the Charles Henderson Trojans.

Citronelle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Curvin Noyd, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Citronelle is 2-1 when Noyd posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another was JJ Rivers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Citronelle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Citronelle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Charles Henderson, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Looking ahead, Citronelle will head out to take on Bibb County at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Citronelle has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Charles Henderson, they will square off against Oneonta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
