Baseball Game Preview: Mullen Mustangs vs. Grandview Wolves

For the second straight game, Mullen will face off against Grandview. The Mustangs will host the Wolves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mullen has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Grandview will come in with six straight wins.

Mullen lost 17-4 to Grandview on Thursday.

For Grandview's part, Seth Mittleman looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Mittleman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grandview let Ryan Miley and AJ Maroni run wild. Miley went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Maroni went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Maroni a new career-high. Everest Seaman was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Grandview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mullen's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Grandview, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mullen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
