Recap: Clinton Red Devils vs. Newberry Bulldogs
The Clinton Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Newberry 55-18 at home. Winning may never get old, but Clinton sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Bryanna Belton was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ry'Daijia Mars, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Clinton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Newberry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Clinton and Worthington Kilbourne will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Worthington Kilbourne has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Newberry will finish 2023 at home by hosting Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
