Recap: Atholton Raiders vs. Centennial Eagles
The Atholton Raiders had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 53-46 win over Centennial on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Atholton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Atholton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juan Macatangay led the charge by scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Wright, who scored 13 points.
Atholton's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Atholton will look to defend their home court on Friday against River Hill at 6:00 p.m. Centennial will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oakland Mills at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
