Preview: Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks vs. Glades Day Gators
Having just played yesterday, the Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks will get right back to it and host the Glades Day Gators at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sheridan Hills Christian has six straight victories, Glades Day has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Sheridan Hills Christian stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Cushman for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-47 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-23.
Elias Feliz and Micah Smith were among the main playmakers for Sheridan Hills Christian as the former dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds and the latter scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Seay, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Glades Day suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Moore Haven 67-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Glades Day in their matchups with Moore Haven: they've now lost six in a row.
Sheridan Hills Christian's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.67 points. As for Glades Day, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Sheridan Hills Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Glades Day in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 56-46. Does Sheridan Hills Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glades Day turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
