Baseball Recap: Beacon Extends Winning Streak to Four

Beacon got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Friday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They blew past the Railsplitters 10-0. Considering the Blue Demons have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Cooper Delabarre's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Franco Calaf was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Patience, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Beacon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

As of now, neither Beacon nor the Railsplitters have any future games scheduled.
