Orange Cove waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Strathmore Spartans as they made off with a 16-2 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Daisy Regalado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kendra Talingo and Allyanah Cano did most of the damage at the plate: Talingo got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Cano went 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Cano has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ashley Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Orange Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strathmore only posted an OBP of .417.
Orange Cove pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Strathmore, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Cove will host Farmersville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Strathmore, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Woodlake at 4:00 p.m. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
