Preview: West Clermont Wolves vs. Kings Knights
West Clermont and Kings are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The West Clermont Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Kings Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Clermont is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
West Clermont pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anderson. West Clermont has struggled against Anderson recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Rayshawn Hubbard, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson Duke, who scored 15 points.
West Clermont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Anderson pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
Kings suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 75-54 loss at the hands of Winton Woods. While losing is never fun, Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Winton Woods is ranked 19th).
West Clermont's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12. As for Kings, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9.
West Clermont came up short against Kings when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 62-53. Can West Clermont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
