Baseball Recap: Russellville Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

Russellville faced Greenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cyclones never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Cyclones as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Russellville pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Greenwood, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Russellville will be playing at home against Morrilton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cyclones 2.5, the Devil Dogs 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
