Soccer Game Preview: Pompano Beach vs. Cooper City

Pompano Beach is 0-4 against Cooper City since December of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes will be playing at home against the Cooper City Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pompano Beach is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Stoneman Douglas, falling 4-1. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Golden Tornadoes couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Cooper City has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the second. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Fort Lauderdale an easy 3-0 victory. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Flying L's are ranked 162nd).

Cooper City's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-2. As for Pompano Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Pompano Beach might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Cooper City in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Pompano Beach avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
