Baseball Recap: Vista Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Vista waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Oceanside Pirates a 7-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Logan Embrey's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Salazar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Lee, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Vista's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oceanside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against Oceanside: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
