Recap: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Colquitt County Packers
The Tift County Blue Devils's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They strolled past Colquitt County with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. Given Tift County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Colquitt County is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malachi Evans went supernova for Tift County, scoring 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. Corey Howard was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Tift County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Colquitt County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
Tift County is on the road again on Thursday and plays Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Houston County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Saturday. As for Colquitt County, they will be playing at home against Brooks County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brooks County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
