Football Recap: Heppner Mustangs vs. Irrigon Knights        
        
		
             Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Heppner). They blew past the Irrigon Knights 44-6 on the road  on Friday. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  points.
  Zach Brown had a dynamite game for Heppner, rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Brown also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making five total tackles and defending a pass.  Alakae Rodriguez was in the mix  too, providing Heppner with two touchdowns.
 Heppner's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged five passes before it was all said and done.  Caleb George led the group effort, picking up two of those  interceptions all by himself. The dominant performance also gave  Nickolas Wenberg a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Heppner was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 279  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 173  rushing yards in seven consecutive  matchups  dating back to last season.
 Heppner's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Irrigon, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
 Heppner will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stanfield at 7:00  p.m.  on October 4th. As for Irrigon, they will play host again  on Friday to welcome Grant Union, where kickoff is scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.
