Preview: Longwood Lions vs. William Floyd Colonials
Longwood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the William Floyd Colonials at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Longwood rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 27-14 win over Commack.
Meanwhile, William Floyd entered their tilt with Sachem East with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. William Floyd blew past Sachem East 55-26 at home. William Floyd might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead William Floyd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aisays Wallace, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Jason Pratt and his 122 yards on the ground were also a key factor in William Floyd's win.
Longwood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for William Floyd, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Longwood might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from William Floyd in their previous meeting back in October. Can Longwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
