Soccer Recap: Punxsutawney Takes a Loss

Punxsutawney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Punxsutawney were already down 7-1.

Punxsutawney's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion], the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Punxsutawney will welcome North Clarion at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Clarion's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion], they will face off against West Shamokin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]'s defense better be ready for this one: West Shamokin have averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season.
