Softball Game Preview: Lee Park Prep Knights vs. Forsyth Home Educators Hawks

The Lee Park Prep Knights will face off against the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Lee Park Prep came into this matchup off a tough 14-run defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Oak Level Baptist Academy by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lee Park Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Swann, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Addison Swann also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Forsyth Home Educators suffered their biggest loss since May 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 12-6 to Ledford. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ansley Owens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Beaver, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Lee Park Prep now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Forsyth Home Educators, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lee Park Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Forsyth Home Educators struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
