Softball Recap: Idaho City Victorious

Idaho City took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Wilder, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Idaho City sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-17 victory over Wilder on Friday. That's two games straight that Idaho City has won by just one run.

Taylor Vigeant and Kinslee Riggs did most of the damage at the plate: Vigeant went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double, while Riggs went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Vigeant has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Kindelberger, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

The win made it two in a row for Idaho City and bumps their season record up to 13-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Wilder, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Idaho City nor Wilder have any future games scheduled.
