Softball Game Preview: Windham Bombers vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

The Windham Bombers will face off against the Grand Valley Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windham has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Windham fell victim to Maplewood and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-0 to the Rockets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Bombers in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 25 runs the game before, Grand Valley was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell 5-2 to St. John.

Breanna Rowland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Poyer, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Grand Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-4. As for Windham, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
