Softball Recap: Clemens Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clemens can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the Eagle Pass Eagles on Friday. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Catherine Brister made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Erika Padron was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Clemens' defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Eagle Pass, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Clemens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eagle Pass, they will challenge Harlingen on Saturday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
