Basketball Recap: Pasquotank County Victorious

Pasquotank County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Great Bridge Wildcats by a score of 63-54.

Branden Smith was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 on his way to 24 points and six rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jamari Seymore was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Pasquotank County's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Great Bridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pasquotank County and Camden County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Pasquotank County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Great Bridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Nansemond River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nansemond River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Great Bridge likes a good challenge.
