Softball Recap: Galena Takes a Loss

Galena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the San Clemente Tritons, falling 9-1.

Galena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Fast, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Galena hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.

Galena's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for San Clemente, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Galena and San Clemente will both be playing Reno the next time they take the field. San Clemente will head out to face Reno at 8:10 a.m. on Saturday, while Galena will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on April 3.
