Basketball Preview: Bloomfield Bengals vs. Newark Tech Terries
The Bloomfield Bengals and the Newark Tech Terries will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Bloomfield didn't have too much trouble with the Bald Eagles at home as they won 72-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bloomfield.
Meanwhile, Newark Tech had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 74-65 win over North Star Academy. Given Newark Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Newark Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
