Santa Fe Indian piles up the points against Newcomb

Recap: Santa Fe Indian Braves vs. Newcomb Skyhawks

In what's become a running theme this season, the Santa Fe Indian Braves gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by Newcomb at home to the tune of 63-29. With Santa Fe Indian ahead 37-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Newcomb lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lethia Yazzie, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Yazzie hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Miller, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.

Santa Fe Indian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Newcomb, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe Indian will challenge Los Alamos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Los Alamos is ranked 53rd, while Santa Fe Indian is ranked 36th). As for Newcomb, they will head out on the road to face off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
