Game recap: Lompoc High School Football Team wins against Nipomo

NIPOMO, Calif. - the Braves had a big 35-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 58-13 victory over Nipomo (Calif.).

Lompoc rushed for five touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including three by Nikko Hayes.

LHS was up 52-6 at the half after taking the lead on a Hayes touchdown run in the first quarter.

With the win the Braves extended their winning streak to nine games. Lompoc defeated the Pirates 56-7 last week.



Tommy Saenz made a difference for the Titans. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

Hayes played well for LHS in the victory. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.

The Braves had given up an average of 6.9 points prior to the contest. The 13 points that Nipomo ended with were below its average of 18.3 coming into the game.

When the two teams played each other last season, Lompoc came away with a 34-7 victory.

The loss comes after Nipomo defeated Santa Maria 31-7 last week.

Nipomo (1-8) goes up against Santa Ynez in a Los Padres game matchup next week, while Lompoc (9-0) locks horns with Cabrillo also in a Los Padres game.
