Basketball Game Preview: Robert C. Byrd Eagles vs. Lincoln Cougars

The Robert C. Byrd Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Lincoln Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Robert C. Byrd has eight straight wins, Lincoln has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Robert C. Byrd is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging an 81-46 victory over Mingo Central. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat East Fairmont on Saturday and fell 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Bees since January 10, 2018.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Robert C. Byrd, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Robert C. Byrd strolled past Lincoln in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 47-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Robert C. Byrd since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
