Soccer Game Preview: Huguenot vs. Midlothian

Huguenot is 0-5 against Midlothian since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Falcons will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Huguenot headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Meadowbrook let them put that streak behind them. The Falcons blew past the Monarchs 5-1 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for Huguenot as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Midlothian faced Atlee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Trojans beat the Raiders by a goal, winning 2-1. The win was familiar territory for Midlothian, who have now won six games in a row.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Huguenot, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-2.

Huguenot suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Midlothian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
