Recap: Sutherland Sailors vs. Hyannis Longhorns
On Saturday, Sutherland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 victory over Hyannis.
Gracyn Elfeldt was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sidney Morgan, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Sutherland's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Hyannis, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutherland will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Garden County at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Garden County is ranked 246th, while Sutherland is ranked 256th). As for Hyannis, they will head out on the road to challenge Sandhills Valley on Tuesday. Sandhills Valley is on a five-game streak of home losses, Hyannis a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
