League recap: Degelia overpowering for Normangee in past week

1A Region IV District 25 league recap: 3/13/13

1A Region IV District 25's top pitcher this week was Normangee's Nick Degelia. He struck out 14 batters this week.

Top honors in the league this week go to North Zulch, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Bulldogs beat BVCHEA HomeSchool 16-8.

Bremond's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 23 hits and 20 walks, both of which led the league.

Normangee led the league with 49 runs scored this week, but the Tigers still hold the season lead with 94 runs.

There were three hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Colby Wilganowski, who hit .700 by going 7-for-10.

Cade Grych continued to mow down hitters this week, cruising to two wins and nine strikeouts. He leads the league in both categories.



Colby Wilganowski drove in five runners as Bremond defeated Thrall 9-2 on Thursday. He went 3-for-3 and scored one run.

Kerry Curry struck out eight in the Tigers' 7-6 win over Gateway College Preparatory on March 9. Over his six innings pitched he allowed six runs on six hits.
