Katahdin had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Washburn on Monday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won nine in a row.

Connor Edwards made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Edwards was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Martin, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Calvin Richardson was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
