Basketball Recap: Westover Skates Past Harnett Central with Ease

Westover was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Harnett Central on Tuesday. The Westover Wolverines simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Harnett Central Trojans 57-0. That looming 57-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolverines yet this season.

Westover had a senior duo take command as Tytiana Dowden almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals and Ty'Asia Carr posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahliyana Baldwin, who put up seven points and five steals.

Westover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Harnett Central, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westover will challenge Triton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harnett Central, they will face off against Avery County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
