Volleyball Game Preview: Deerfield Warriors vs. Maine South Hawks

The Deerfield Warriors will challenge the Maine South Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Deerfield: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Maine South has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Tuesday, Deerfield came up short against New Trier and fell 2-0.

Deerfield was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 18 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Maine South hadn't done well against Glenbrook North recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hawks came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 2-0.

Maine South never let Glenbrook North on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24.

Maine South has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11 record this season. As for Deerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.
