Pac-Five took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sacred Hearts Academy Lancers a 12-0 shutout. The Wolfpack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.
Mauiola Zuttermeister and Kylie Oshita were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Zuttermeister tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Oshita tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Zuttermeister went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Oshita scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dahlia Gangano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaimana Siu, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Pac-Five always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacred Hearts Academy only posted an OBP of .304.
Pac-Five will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sacred Hearts Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on April 2.
