Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sheridan

Sheridan had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fountain Central on Monday. The Blackhawks were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Mustangs. The win was nothing new for the Blackhawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Chance Spencer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sheridan let Braelan Bochner and Eli Bales run wild. Bochner went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Bales went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Bochner is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Walker McWhorter, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Sheridan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fountain Central struck out eight times.

The victory got Sheridan back to even at 8-8. As for Fountain Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coming up, Sheridan will square off against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fountain Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-10 loss against Attica on the 12th.
