Baseball Game Preview: Providence Hall Patriots vs. American Leadership Academy Eagles

Providence Hall hasn't had much luck against American Leadership Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Providence Hall has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Providence Hall didn't have quite enough to beat Judge Memorial Catholic and fell 14-13.

Dom Herrera was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-6 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Vincent Dutton was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Payson.

Providence Hall's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for American Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Providence Hall hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like American Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
