Basketball Recap: Larimore Comes Up Short

Larimore was the 58-57 winner over Warwick when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Larimore Polar Bears took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warwick Warriors on Friday. The Polar Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Larimore saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Baron Burns posted 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Burns is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Gratton, who earned 12 points and six rebounds.

Warwick was led to victory by Elijah Feather Jr and Anthony Touche Jr. Feather Jr shot 44% from the field on his way to 27 points and five boards, while Touche Jr put up 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Feather Jr has scored at least a third of Warwick's points. Another player making a difference was Dalton Joramo, who scored seven points in addition to 11 boards and six steals.

Larimore's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Warwick, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Larimore has already played their next match, a 69-46 win against Hatton/Northwood on the 3rd. As for Warwick, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-52 loss against New Rockford-Sheyenne on the 3rd.
