Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Maroons vs. St. Teresa Bulldogs

Clinton is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while St. Teresa is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Clinton Maroons will host the St. Teresa Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clinton is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Cerro Gordo/Bement: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Clinton blew Cerro Gordo/Bement out of the water with a 66-29 final score. The Maroons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Teresa hadn't done well against Tuscola recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. St. Teresa came out on top in a nail-biter against Tuscola, sneaking past 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since January 11th.

Clinton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. As for St. Teresa, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Clinton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against St. Teresa in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory.
