Volleyball Recap: Albany Comets vs. Benton Zephyrs
Albany and Benton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Albany had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Zephyrs by a score of 3-2. The Comets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it 12 in a row.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Benton scored at least 16 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 18-16.
Benton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madeline Davis out in front who had eight digs and five aces. That's the most digs Davis has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Faith Auderer, who had 26 digs and two aces.
Albany's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Benton, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-19.
