Softball Recap: Carlisle Comes Up Short

Carlisle had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-15 to make it eight. They came up short against the Waskom Wildcats, falling 23-3. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Waskom, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-20. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Waskom's part, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Maxwell, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Maxwell has posted since back in February. Peyton Fussell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Waskom beat Carlisle by a score of 16-7 on Friday.
