Malden won against Gideon on Thursday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Green Wave walked away with a 16-11 victory over the Holcomb Hornets. The win was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won five games in a row.

Malden's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Holcomb, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Holcomb has already played their next contest (against Senath-Hornersville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Malden will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' matchup: after the Hornets face off against the Lions, they'll take on Malden again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
