Basketball Game Preview: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. Doral Academy Firebirds

True North Classical Academy is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Doral Academy is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The True North Classical Academy Titans will host the Doral Academy Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. True North Classical Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Doral Academy likes a good challenge.

True North Classical Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging an 89-57 victory over Cathedral Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Titans have posted since February 6, 2024.

It was another big night for Cj Gonzalez, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Douby Jr, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points.

True North Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Doral Academy earned a 51-42 victory over Palmer Trinity on Friday.

Doral Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for True North Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
